In Bohinj we have few places where you can try delicious typical Slovenian food. We recommend three locations:
1. HOTEL JELKA POKLJUKA
Surrounded by beautiful nature of Pokljuka you can enjoy different type of meals. It is recommended to make a reservation to check capacities and working time.
We recommend:
- Barley soup with sausage or with dried meat or
- Cabbage with sausage or with dried meat or
- Chicken steak rolled in bacon with cream sauce and
- Pancakes or
- Homemade ice cream.

2. TOURIST FARM ROČNJEK
Located in the heart of Triglav national park, in Gorjuše you can spoil yourself with delicious homemade Slovenian food. Reservation is obligatory.You need to try:
- Deer medallion with mushrooms or
- Roasted pork ribs or
- Fried chicken medallion with pumpkin seeds and
- Curd cheese cake with blueberries

3. ALPINE HUT ŠTRUDL
In the center of Bohinjska Bistrica, Štrudl is the place to go, when you want to eat good and typical Slovenian dish.Definitely you need to ask for:
- “štruklji” – Slovenian national dish, rolled dough with different filling, can be cooked or baked, sweet or salty and
- Strudel with sour cream and blueberries or
- Different types of pancakes
